A few years back, I wrote a poem (at least I think it’s a poem) with title आज रात जैसी ही चाँदनी थी

I have translated this poem to English with some help with ChatGPT. Let see how this sounds –

Tonight was like the moonlight

Tonight was like the moonlight

When I saw you for the first time.

 
The moonlight falling on your dark hair

Like the radiance of the sun falling in the stream of a golden river.

 
Perhaps you don’t remember

But with your eyes closed, smiling while looking at the moon

It felt as if you had chosen me in your thoughts.

 
Just a moment had passed since you saw me, that someone called you from home… Anshuma

For the first time, I saw the moon and the sun’s light together on a first night

In those brief moments.

 
Tonight is still the same

The only difference is that you are not far away.

But standing by me.

Tonight was like the moonlight… on that day.
